The house fly is considered the major pest fly species associated with poultry manure, especially in caged-layer operations. House flies are the primary cause of public health nuisance complaints in surrounding communities. The effective house fly dispersal ranges from their preferred breeding sources to 1 kilometre radius area. The flies are capable of harbouring more than 100 human and animal disease-causing organisms.

Sticky fly ribbon/tape is a way of monitoring fly activity in a Poultry or Farm facility. One method to use them is to select locations to hang them up for weekly intervals. This sticky tape is to be put at waist height around the Poultry farm as shown in the video. The bright colour of the tape attracts the flyies. The glue on the tape dose not permit the fly to go away.

Trasy Enterprises has developed a machine to make such tapes by coating Hot Melt Adhesive on Plastic tape. Hot Melt Adhesives are water resistant hence can withstand all seasons in open air and sun light. This product is very effective to arrest fly population and wondering of flies in neighbourhood which results in not spreading diseases.
