Sometimes you just want a simple static image to quickly get to your main activity, but other times you may want to make a bit more of a SPLASH or just buy time while you bootstrap your app experience. This video shows that continuum of options and leaves it up to you to decide what is best for your app.

This works for Xamarin.Forms as well as Xamarin.Android since they are really the same thing in the end.
