Climate change is one of humanity's most urgent challenges of the 2020s. At Nordea, we have a clear-as-the-sky-should-be strategy to help combat this global issue and its impacts.

We believe that investing with a sustainable mind-set is a key instrument to ensure positive change. So, we work hard to align our investments with the Paris Climate Agreement and make sure investee companies take part in the global effort to keep temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius (preferably 1,5) compared to pre-industrial levels.

Our Responsible Investment team spar with leading climate research institutions to unveil which companies are doing their bit for the transition to a carbon-neutral economy – and which ones aren't. And we engage with the 'bad eggs' businesses and use our voice to motivate them to commit to the net-zero emissions pathway needed. And to tell them that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand; that sustainable companies are the outperformers and not the outperformed in future economic markets.
