Somnath Hore was an Indian sculptor and printmaker. His sketches, sculptures and prints were a reaction to major historical crises and events of 20th century Bengal, such as the Bengal Famine of 1943 and the Tebhaga movement. He was a recipient of the Indian civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan.

An Artist born in Chittagong (Currently in Bangladesh). He made remarkable Drawings, Prints and Sculptures from 1940s till he died in 2006 but his best known works are Bengal famine series, Tebhaga Series and the Wounds series. The famine series is the most tragic and graphic based on events of Bengal famine that took place in 1943 which was certainly man made. Under British rule specifically Winston Churchill. Later he introduced Paper pulp in Wounds series during the 1960s and 70s. He was self-claimed Marxist. Rest is inside this short documentary
