Healing Cruiser Rebuild (Raleigh 20 cousin/competition)

Rebuild of a 1970/80's New Zealand Built Healing Cruiser.

Imports into New Zealand for the bicycle market were under strict restrictions prior to the late 1980's and as a result we had a booming internal bicycle manufacturing market where the majority of the machine had to be made/assembled locally using locally produced steel. Morrison Industries built by licence a NZ version of the Raleigh 20 from the late 1960's and Healing Cycles answered back in 1970 with the Healing Cruiser. Both brands ran successfully until the late 1980's when import licences changed and New Zealand's bicycle industry largely collapsed.

This version of the Cruiser is a three speed, Shimano branded hub with a twist grip changer. We also saw single speed coaster brake versions.
