In this talk, we will present how we have been building machine learning applications inside the context of customer service at Nubank. We will explore the main highlights of machine learning in practice, bringing real-world examples for each part of the journey of building machine learning products.

About the speakers:
Cinthia Tanaka initially wanted to be a book editor but on the way she changed trajectory and ended up with a PhD in Applied Mathematics. Currently, she works at Nubank, on the team which takes care of automatic solutions to customer service problems, and one of her interests is to build human-centered machine learning products.

Matias Roqueta holds a BA in Economics and an MS in Mathematical Statistics. He wanted to be a quant trader, so he began his career in financial services. Fortunately, his career detoured in 2011 and started working in the analytics team of a gaming company (remember Minifazenda?). Since then, he's been helping build personalized smart products, first for the online travel industry, and now for the fintech world.
