Singapore Champs: The Senior Volunteers

An untapped talent pool of senior citizens set out to support elderly patients at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore — and gain much more in return.

Ken Lim, Nora Omar and Lynette Poh are senior volunteers under Temasek Foundation CHAMPS (Centre for Health Activation Mobilises Para-clinical Seniors), a pilot volunteer programme for seniors aged 50 and above. The programme, developed by Tan Tock Seng healthcare staff, trains volunteers in para-clinical skills for the Eye Clinic, Total Knee Replacement Ward and Hospital Elder Life Program.
