In My Hero Academia I know you’re familiar with the concept of a quirk awakening which a lot of people actually don’t know is a term that I myself coined way back in the day to describe the moment Eri’s quirk finally became useful when Deku used 100%, but now I want to introduce you to the concept of REAWAKENINGS, which is something that is EXTREMELY rare, because really the only character we’ve seen do it is Shigaraki Tomura. Now after being given All for One and being experimented on, ontop of the damage from the battle between Star and Stripe and our villain, when Shigaraki enters the final battlefield his body is in a REALLY strange place, with Shigaraki’s body slowly gaining a sort of rudimentary awareness of its own, that like Mahoraga attempts to adapt to any given situation or goal that Shigaraki has at any given moment. This allows his body to completely warp and change many times over the final arc, the first of which being when Shigaraki spawns a giant swarm of fingers to take down Bakugo and the others, but this goes on until the point where Shigaraki even completely separates from his body and is reborn instead of being completely blown apart by one of Deku’s moves that triggered a collapse inside of Shigaraki’s Vestige World. That’s all a really complicated way of saying, that Shigaraki’s body has basically awakened itself as if it were a quirk, and it’s ability is endless improvement and growth that can channeled in different ways, but since this isn’t technically a quirk at all, you can see why this is called a REawakening, and not just a QUIRK awakening. And I guess for bonus points, it looks horrifying.
