We're back to publishing videos again every Sunday!

The much anticipated episode... The King Cobra! The snake is one of the most notorious venomous snakes in the world, inspiring myth and legend for thousands of years. The King Cobra ( Ophiophagus hannah ) is the largest venomous snake in the world, growing up to 4 metres in length. Its venom yield is almost half a gram, and combined with its relatively high toxicity, it is considered on the most dangerous snakes on the planet. The death rate for untreated bites is over 50%.

The King Cobra lives in primary and secondary rainforests. It specialises in eating other snakes, but also will eat rodents and other animals. Many people have even observed the King Cobra eating large reticulated pythons so it can be considered the top predator in the ecosystem. When threatened the King Cobra lifts its head up hight and flattens its neck in a cobra fashion, and exhales. Often striking forward to force an intruder to retreat.

King Cobras are rarely encountered in the wild, due to their near endangered status. Coming across one to film was a dream come true!!
