Hi!

What you see here is a gift for my inner child because the video is about my grandparents who raised me up into the human I am today. I found new unconditional love in an old place.

This place is located in the north of Romania, in Maramures county up on the hills near the town called Baia Sprie and the nearby village, Chiuzbaia, where my grandpa grew up.

My brother Andrei and I spent all the summer holidays here, and our grandparents were very kind and patient with us, they allowed us to play with their tools, they answered all our questions and they helped us build our own toys. They never said something was not possible.

Here is where I became friends with the animals and with Mother Nature.

After a short introduction about my childhood (with pics I took in the past five years), we are taking you with us to spend a weekend with my grandparents and my mom and my aunt, we are here to celebrate grandma’s 85 anniversary and grandpa’s 89th.

We also had a mission: to visit the shepherd near the village and bring my grandfather’s cheese home.

On the way, grandpa remembers that when he was 6 years old, with the opening of the new church, we had his first ice cream. Overwhelmed by emotions and with tears under my sunglasses, I was listening to grandpa saying that on the road to the village, there was a lot of wildlife that stopped existing in the 70s when they started using cyanide for mining and petrol-powered machinery. So sad. I remember now when grandpa told us how he would walk every day as a child on this road (7 km) to go to school. There were some winters when his parents did not afford to buy him shoes, so he was barefoot. He was the oldest of 7 children. This story makes me realize how lucky and blessed we are with everything that we need. And I also understood that shoes are important and every time I need a new pair, I research and buy the best quality I can afford. Thank you, Universe!

I was amazed by the hospitality of the Shepard and his family and I am grateful they allowed me to film them and the sheepfold.

I am also grateful for my aunt Maria, who is very kind and generous and it is a pleasure to spend time with her.

Last but not least, I am grateful that my mom was also with us for this trip and I am amazed at her ability to take care of my grandparents just as they did with me and my brother 30 years ago.
