Intercity Swallow liveried 47828 heads south through Bamfurlong on the evening of Wednesday 28th July 2021. The Class 47 was working the return leg of the Cumbrian Coast Statesman railtour from Ravenglass bound for Hereford. As expected the locomotive was accompanied by the ever-present 47805 which had worked the outbound leg of the tour earlier in the morning. Fortunately there was no circular route or any loco swapping shenanigans meaning I would finally get a shot of 47828 working a mainline passenger train since December 2012 when it worked the last ever Cruise Saver Express "Boat Train" back when it was still with DRS.

Anyway, the tour was running around 15 minutes late by this point having made up over minutes lost due to flooding in the vicinity of Dalton. Despite the delay the train was hardly "giving it some" passing me and that was because he was chasing yellows as he was following the 6K05 engineers which was running 130 minutes late (due to flooding on the S&C line). He was quite literally "up his a**" as barely a minute passed between 6K05 and this one!

For me this really makes up for the fiasco this morning where not only did I write off a shot of 66789 (The BR liveried Shed) but also stuffed up the shot of the tour going north due to a combination of bad luck, the sun and my camera doing something unexpected.
