Cadence Allegro or OrCAD printed circuit board file:

Open your PCB design file in Cadence Allegro or OrCAD.
Navigate to the "Export" menu and select "More."
From the export options, choose "Libraries."

Select all the options, including making the libraries independent.
Then select the directory to put the footprints in. I recommend calling the directory 'symbols' so that Allegro automatically searches for it within your project folders for the PCB (the .brd file of the original design, which will likely hold your new .BRD file as well).

Click "Export" to save the footprints to the chosen location in the selected file format.
