The report presented by the UN Secretary-General on the functioning of the organization confirms that Pakistan’s remarks on India’s Jammu & Kashmir, a constitutionally integrated region under central administration, were unwarranted.

India emphasized that the UN Charter’s provision on self-determination is a fundamental principle, but it must not be misused by countries to encourage separatism or instability in sovereign nations. Pakistan’s attempt to politicize the issue drew a firm rebuttal from India at the international forum.
