This is the first meditation in a three-set series, SkillfullyAware #1, #2, AND #3. This meditation series introduces key skills and concepts you will use and build upon throughout the 13-month program.
First, you will learn to expand your awareness into a “whole space.” Then, you will also learn to narrow your attention and focus on a single object. You then practice both at the same time. This simultaneous “expanded awareness” and “narrowed attention” is an awareness skill you will practice, develop, and refine over the course of the program.
The first meditation in the series introduces and works within, the broad “Spaces” of the World and the Mind. The second meditation expands on the first; it is similar in practice but introduces and works within, the “Spaces” of the Mind and Body. This third meditation provides you with a broad introduction to the six Skillfully Aware “Objects” and “Spaces.”
Take up to a month to get through this set of three meditations. These meditations are part of a comprehensive 13-month guided meditation program, designed to better acquaint you with your inner and outer worlds, so you feel better. I want you to be happy!
Listen to this guided meditation a few times, then see if you can meditate on your own, without guidance for a few times. Once you get the hang of meditating on your own, move onto the second meditation in this series.
