How it all started:
Helga was recruited by Vault-Tec to come join Vault 76 as she just finished studying whatever. She was surprised by the offer and accepted. When the doors closed - she observed "things" inside the Vault. She soon lost interest on working with the stuff she had studied at college. She got bored!
She looked at things other people did. She wasn't welcome.
They didn't want to share their knowledge with somebody from another "field of study". She saw the faults appearing!

They were supposed to go out there and help rebuild! Don't you want teams for that? With people trained in various "subjects"; building, medicine, science....
She continued to observe and notice more...
At times she saw this army guy. He seemed lost. He didn't belong to any of the cliques that had formed. But for some unknown reason - perhaps they were both shy? - they didn't chat.

Helga listened to the talks given by the Overseer and watched the action/interactions of her fellow vault inhabitants. Very few seemed to interact with others outside their working time. Most kept to themselves after work.

Anyway the big party happened - and somehow Helga got a hang-over and missed the departure of all others. It hurt a bit to see all had left - without a word. It seemed to be a case of "everybody for him/her self". Seemed stupid to her. Nobody knows what to expect "out there". Why not stay together in small groups?

She checked every corner of the vault and read all the terminals, found the Overseer's tape.... WTF?

She collected the few bits of equipment on the way out - and felt very mad/angry/scared!
No weapons/hazmat suit/gas mask - anything practical!
A few chems, a few drops of water and a camp thingy! And a party hat!
And she is supposed to "rebuild America" with that crap?
She was very angry and scared!

She is a rebel at heart. Doesn't trust authority. Knows that all those people do is lie and screw you. She has eyes to see and she has a functioning brain. Brainwashing hasn't worked on her. Following orders? Depends on the order! If it feels right - good!
She will do her best to survive and learn about this world....
She made it to the Vault Door and stepped outside.

She got a surprise: Sah was there.
Did he just leave as well? She decides to talk to him.
Perhaps they can team up? Might be safer than going out there on your own.

Both are "loners" it seems... but with a bit of effort and patience and understanding - they can learn to work together.
Helga is willing to give it a go!

When I joined the event - there were 2 areas left to search....
That involved a lot of running (in my case - sneaking) around the countryside and fighting various enemies along the way.
