How to get Hyper Sonic in Sonic 2 Works for any port of the original game

I know that Hyper Sonic is not in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. However, there is a glitch that will allow you to get sparkles on Super Sonic, just like Hyper Sonic has. This is what is known as Hyper Sonic in Sonic 2.
In this video I show how to obtain Hyper Sonic in Sonic 2.
To do this you will need to follow these steps:
1. Obtain all 7 chaos emeralds
2. Activate an invincibility powerup
3. While the powerup is still active, transform into Super Sonic.
The above steps work on every version of the game I have tested.
Sega Gen, Game Cube, DS, XBOX, SP2, XBOX 360, 3DS, Mobile (first release - got patched out in 2019), and Switch.
This glitch works anywhere with an invincibility powerup. Try it out and have fun!

How this glitch works:
The invincibility powerup and Super Sonic’s invincibility are both activated by the same flag. The invincibility powerup, however, also activates the flag for a timer which is linked to the sparkle effect. When the invincibility powerup is hit, the flag is set and the sparkles turn on until the end of the invincibility (ie., the timer expires). If you transform into Super Sonic the Super Sonic transformation will overwrite the invincibility flag and reset the timer to deactivate when your ring count replenishes to zero. This will also cause the sparkles to last the entire time that Super Sonic is activated, thus, turning Super Sonic into Hyper Sonic.
