Equipment Description
6.1 Fanuc M20 35KG Series Robot
(1) M20 (6) axis Industrial Robots with 35 kg payload.
6.2 (2) Acme Designed Belt Heads for Polishing
Head 1 is a dual stacked head with (2) contact wheels (armrest)
Head 2 is a triple stacked head with (3) floating tippers porpoise nose
attachments (escutcheons)
Heads are designed for programmable float compensation
Grinding pressure is programmable and is controlled and
maintained through the robots’ analog signal to a pneumatic servo
compensator
Belt speed is controlled with an AC adjustable frequency drive
Manual tracking adjustment with belt tension system
6.3 System Enclosure
Full enclosure contains grinding operations
Safety glass viewing and inspection windows
Access door(s) with safety interlock
Interior lighting
6.4 Incoming Part Staging Area
180-degree indexing part server
Parts are manually loaded onto a part-holding tray
A fulltime operator is not required
Load area is safety interlocked
6.5 Design and Build (1) Custom End-of-Arm Gripper (EOAT)

Adapter plate for robot mounting

Tooling fingers hold the unfinished sides

Air preparation unit with filter, regulator, and local shut-off valve
60 psi required at 5 CFPM

Internal ductwork under the grinding heads provided pull to a single
point outlet
Ductwork is not provided from machine enclosure to collector
