Painting wall art can be relaxing and simple with the right tools, a little patience, and a steady hand. I make sure to buy quality paints and always use the appropriate size paint brush for the job. It also helps that the brush has a nice clean bristle edge for getting into those narrow spaces.

Most paints will require two coats and some, like yellow, will require three or four to get a solid color. If you are using craft paint then I would recommend Folk Art or Americana brands. They come in smaller 2 oz. bottles, are affordable, and you can find a variety of colors at your local craft or hobby store.

I always lightly distress my wood wall art pieces after painting so that they have a more rustic and weathered look.
