In September, Giant Group launched a global employee campaign “Ride to the Future” in hopes of contributing to environmental protection and encourage our employees to put sustainability in to practice. We set a goal for every employee worldwide to ride at least 20 kilometers to offset the carbon emissions generated by the 50th anniversary celebration.

According to our calculation, the carbon footprint of the 50th anniversary celebration is about 102,000 kg. We have successfully offset the carbon footprint through the cycling distance traveled by our employees worldwide and our tree planting projects over the next 5 years. The total distance covered by our employees through cycling is over 250,000 km. We are also working with the Taichung City Government and the Taiwan Reforestation Association to plant 3,750 trees over the next 5 years to support the reforestation project at Dadu Mountain, where Giant Group’s Headquarters is located in.
