Don Bosco’s kind fatherly manner in dealing with his oratory boys was the exact opposite of the severe approach to discipline that was popular at the time. Often he would go well out of his way to help souls that he barely even knew, just acquaintances.
However, he did also know how to put the fear of God into people, how to chastise those who severely needed it. I will be telling two stories in this episode that illustrate both sides of this incredible man.
