Kieren D’Souza is an Indian ultramarathon runner and endurance athlete. In 2016, he became the first and, as of June 2020, the only Indian to qualify for and finish the Spartathlon, a 246 kilometre footrace from Athens to Sparta held annually in Greece. Kieren, then aged 23, completed the race in 33 hours, 2 minutes and 25 seconds.

In the June of 2020, Kieren undertook to complete a training project he had been conceptualising for 6 years. Merging his ambitions for alpine style mountaineering with ultra running, Kieren ran upto the summit of Mt. Friendship, a 5289m high Himalayan Summit near the town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh. A popular peak among trekkers and mountaineers of all skill levels, Mt. Friendship is usually summitted over 3-5 days. That too from the trail head at Dhundi. However, in a bid to establish a game changing precedent for India as well as test his own skill levels, Kieren ran to the peak from the heart of Manali town and back in a total of 11h 45m and 50sec. Even making a 15 minute stop at the summit to conduct an instagram live session with the broader running community.
