WHO WAS THE LITTLE BOY?

We have an important update to the story about the Ghost Boy of Ferguson Cemetery, near Minneapolis.     • 🎃 The Ghost Boy of Ferguson Cemetery.  
Looks like there may have been a misidentification on the identity of the mystery boy.
Leesa Morrow, one of our viewers, contacted me on Instagram. Here is what she wrote:

The stone was photographed by "BJ", who received the information from Debbie Boe Norwood.
Ms. Norwood originally surveyed Ferguson Cemetery in the early 1990s. She wrote a book about the Cemetery then, which is out of print now.
Frederick (b. 1883 - d. 1894) died at the age of 7 months. I don't know how this plays out with the urban legend of him haunting the Cemetery, since it seems he would be a little young for that.
I did read Mattie's Oct. 2022 pinned note in the comments. No disrespect intended to her, but I did want to clarify the information given. While the family she's referring to did lose two children in succession, they are buried as a family unit in the middle of this cemetery. It would have been odd that this child was interred in the corner by himself.
That being said, a couple of us have worked diligently to identify this child. Many thanks to Ms. Norwood for leading the way. It is sad enough that he is forgotten in the corner. I just wanted his name corrected.

I got this email from one of our awesome viewers. Here is what Mattie says:

This might be the little guy you are looking for:
James W. Berry
1877-1879
Son of John and Elizabeth Berry, earliest pioneers of the region.
The Berrys tragically lost four young children who are all buried in this cemetery which was originally called the County Line Cemetery.
All of their children have a headstone photographed on "Find a Grave" except for James.
Of course, I don't know if little James is the "ghost boy" but I believe there is strong evidence to suggest that the unidentifiable headstone belongs to him.
James was their second child to die. Their first child to die was Sarah Berry who has a headstone exactly like the unidentified headstone in your video.
Sarah (1875-1879), three years old, died in February, 1879 and little John (13 months old) died a few weeks later in March 1879.
Their other two children who died, have identifiable headstones. Tragically, they died two days apart from diptheria. Please see attached obituary. :
Huldy Berry (Dec. 1879 - Nov. 12, 1891) 11 year old daughter
Edward Berry (Jan. 1883 - Nov. 14, 1891) 8 year old son

There are quite a few children buried in this cemetery. Pioneers were strong people. I think the greatest hardship was the loss of their children. The Berrys had 12 children. Four of them died in childhood and a few of them died as young adults. I doubt they ever truly recovered from the loss of a single child.

Her little brother, James does not have a headstone on "Find a Grave". James died a few weeks after Sarah. All of the Berry children have headstones but James.
