The How To Series by OTAA #OTAAhowto

The Prince Albert Knot is one of the most noble tie knots you can possibly wear. It derives its name from Prince Albert of England who, funnily enough, never actually wore this knot. The Prince Albert Knot produces a mildly asymmetric knot at the top of your tie that's slightly more bulky than the Four In Hand.

The Prince Albert Knot is quite slender and it makes the most elegant statement in boardrooms. However don't worry, it's versatile enough to be dressed up to suit just about any occasion!

The Prince Albert Knot is rumoured to be named after the fact that it's very similar to the Victoria Knot. As Prince Albert and Queen Victoria were married to each other, this tie knot got its name for its comparative nature. Quite logical, don't you think?

Because of its understated size, the Prince Albert Knot makes the ideal pairing with narrow collar shirts and works well with skinny ties. The double wrapping creates a subtle detail that any man with good taste can appreciate.

Have a go at tying the Prince Albert Knot and see if you can tie it to royal standards. Once you've mastered this knot, have a go at tying the Victoria Knot and see which one you prefer. Once you've tied it, feel free to post a picture to Instagram with the hashtag #OTAAhowto to show us what you can do. Have fun tying- The Brothers at OTAA.
