Ryko SoftGloss Maxx 5 at Shell Star Stop Gas Station in Houston TX

Описание к видео Ryko SoftGloss Maxx 5 at Shell Star Stop Gas Station in Houston TX

After an awful wash experience from the last video, today I'm up at a Star Stop owned Shell Gas Station in Houston TX off i10 East Fwy, and Mercury Dr that houses a newer Ryko SoftGloss Maxx 5. The gas station this resides in was built in 2022 replacing an older Shell Food Mart gas station that at one time had a decomissioned wash bay as of 2016 that housed an old Jim Coleman Water Wizard (possibly a 1.0), so that old gas station has been without a car wash for 5 years before being demolished and Star Stop built this new gas station on the same site, and since they're contracted with Ryko, they bought a new Softgloss Maxx 5 to install in their wash bay that they opted to have at the new station. This system is still fairly new as of 2022, and is the latest version of the Maxx 5, which design wise and functionality wise, nothing is that different between the years of these machines, other than the dryers, which are the newer MacNeil made dryers that discontinued the old Slimline and Thrust Pro dryers of previous years (and it's a shame they discontinued the older dryers, especially the Thrust Pro). I did buy the top dollar wash for this video which Fischer calls it the Color Max wash which came out to $14 (about the average for in bay washes by today's standards) and wash quality I would give this a 7/10, the undercarriage wash actually did very good (I think Ryko finally figured out how to make the undercarriage wash equipment on this effective compared to the older SoftGloss models), the tri-foam had an great coating (though 1 of the colors was missing), the soft touch cycle did go well, and like many of these Ryko SoftGloss systems a bit on the aggressive side and did shake the entire vehicle around (though it wasn't as bad with this system compared to the older SoftGloss models), but all 4 brushes and the top brush did profile the vehicle pretty well for the most part (and is it just me, or does the top brush sit a little too low, or is it because I drive a pickup truck?), the post soft touch rinse was good complete with the rotating nozzles and the wheel blasters, the color wave feature did leave a lot to be desired though, since the lava wax wasn't applied much of if any, as did the rinse cycle from the same application to wash it off, the surface protection and spot free rinse passes were also good, and the newer MacNeil made Dryers actually did a pretty good job in drying off the vehicle, they're nice and powerful, but truthfully nothing can replace the nostalgia and effectiveness respectively of the old Slimline and Thrust Pro dryers (though that does go without saying). Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video, and stay tuned for more to come.
