Minutemen - History Lesson Part 2 [Bass Cover w/Tabs]

My previous cover of this was an abomination tone-wise and I'm glad I got to re-do this one.

This song genuinely makes me want to cry every time I hear it (especially the "Mr. Narrator, this is Bob Dylan to me" line). I also tear up because I cannot imagine losing a childhood friend/son/brother so early in life...I feel for D. Boon's loved ones every time I listen to this track.

Side note: Seeing Mike Watt live and watching all previous renditions of Minutemen on Youtube made me realize D. Boon's delivery as a vocalist made Minutemen what they were. He managed to convey these stream of conscious lyrics without sounding like a pseudo-intellectual. He also pulls off the more emotional tracks (such as this one), with almost a child-like innocence. It's been an honor doing these and I can't wait to upload the full album with these covers on YouTube
