Forlorn - Tony James Morton (Max MSP granular looper and audio reactive Jitter visuals)

Описание к видео Forlorn - Tony James Morton (Max MSP granular looper and audio reactive Jitter visuals)

Forlorn is part of a body of work called Reinterpretations, a collection of work based on granular translations of already fixed pieces of audio. A granular sampler was built as a tool, or instrument, to work with. Through that, a given piece of audio is fed through in real-time. The performer then samples small granular loops as the original piece progresses. The original audio is never listened to by the performer, in fact, the original audio could be totally unknown. Instead, it is entirely up to the performer when to take a section of audio and when to introduce new musical content. As this piece is normally improvised in real-time, what is heard today is only one embodiment of it's form. An infinite number of permutations exist, making the piece different in every instance.
