Charles Foster is a Professor at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford, a member of the Oxford Law Faculty, and a practising barrister. He has been involved in many of the key cases in medical law, including the assisted suicide litigation in the House of Lords and the Supreme Court. He is the author and editor of many books, including Identity and Personhood in the Law, Altruism, Welfare and the Law, Medical Law: A Very Short Introduction, Human Dignity in Bioethics and Law, Choosing Life, Choosing Death: The Tyranny of autonomy in medical ethics and law, Depression: Law and Ethics, and Dementia: Law and Ethics.
