Banjar Assembly Constituency MLA Surender Shauri visited Shikarighat and Khabal gram panchayats on a one-day tour, interacting with residents of Panula, Bagi, Khamarda and Sandha villages. During the visit, villagers strongly raised the issue of bus services that have remained suspended for months, causing severe hardship to students, employees, elderly citizens and patients.
Locals also expressed anger over the poor condition of roads, stating that daily travel has become unsafe and exhausting. Addressing the gathering, MLA Surender Shauri launched a sharp attack on the state government, accusing it of ignoring Banjar region and failing to restore essential public transport services.
He said the government has shown no political will to improve road infrastructure or resume bus connectivity, leaving common people to suffer. Shauri warned that if bus services are not restored soon and road conditions are not improved, a public agitation will be launched. He assured villagers that the issue will be strongly raised in the Assembly and before concerned departments.
