Whistlers Campground in Jasper National Park has been closed for construction for the past 2 years and just opened in July 2021. We camped in site 13F a week after it opened and thought we'd do a drive through to show you the sites.
They removed quite alot of trees due to the mountain pine beetle. Although it allows for better views of the mountains, some of the sites are too exposed with nowhere to tie tarps and no protection from the wind (like 13F)! Our trusty old 10 x 10 canopy buckled from a huge windstorm that blew in on our second to last day. We ended up taking it to the transfer station to throw out!
Some people brought skateboards and rollerblades because there are some really nice paved areas between the different loops. The bathrooms/showers are really nice and they have lock boxes with USB charging cables so that you can charge your devices. That was great!
Anyway, here is my personal review of the sites with links for you. Hope it helps you get an idea of what you might end up getting!!
