Here's a speedpaint of my Wings of Fire Hivewing/Seawing hybrid oc Stonefish flying over the mountains and exposing his wrist stingers as if prepared for a fight. Stonefish is Cone Snail's brother. They were abandoned by their mother and separated before they hatched, Stonefish being taken under the wing of a kindly bachelor Seawing named Nudibranch and Cone Snail being found by a seawing named Tarpon who used Cone Snail's animus magic to climb the ranks and gain power among the seawings until Cone Snail snapped and overthrew her. That's a story for another day. As for Stonefish, Nudibranch raised the unusual hatchling as his own, training him to fight, hunt, and survive on his own. Stonefish discovered his venom during a sparring session with Nudibranch, and over time he began to gain the advantage over his adoptive father. He was seen as a freak and an outcast among the other Seawing dragonets he grew up alongside and gradually isolated himself from everyone except for Nudibranch who he believed was the only dragon who accepted him. His life shattered when he came home one day to find Nudibranch dead. Believing that it was his venom that killed Nudibranch, he fled the Seawing kingdom and eventually wound up in the Skywing kingdom. His combat prowess was discovered by a male Skywing gladiator known as Cassowary who introduced him to the arena where he gradually climbed the ranks and improved his fighting skill. Cassowary served as his mentor and trainer. Stonefish is an abrasive spitfire of a dragon. He is ornery and spiteful, and about as pleasant to deal with as swallowing a handful of thumbtacks. He is cynical and jaded and hates almost everything that lives and breathes, and plenty of things that don’t live and breathe. He is completely unaware of the existence of his sister and as for whether or not the two will reunite is up for fate to decide.

I hope you enjoyed this speedpaint. I had a lot of fun with the posing of this one. The mountains in the background were a pain to get right and I'm not quite happy with them but I guess it's because I'm a bit out of practice when it comes to drawing backgrounds.
