First off, I'm not playing to impress anyone, I'm just demoing a machine to show that it works so don't give stupid reviews on my playing.
I'm going to have to sell this due to we need money for my wife's operation this month, she has a high deductible and they won't do it unless its paid ahead of time. (time to change policies!!)
This is a seventies Multivox MX-201, another make of the same thing was Evens. I demagnetized all the heads and tape travel, all springs are adjusted along with the feed guides and there's a brand new tape in the machine. Everything works fine. I covered the springs because the wires are long and would hang down on them making it sound like the spring transformers were weak, not week, listen and you'll see/
The sound on sound works, not like a digital but its usable. Has sound on sound and switchable to single repeat (never could figure that one out) BUT!! if you're using it on the jobs, it works and built like a tank.
The balance wheel on these over time slip down the shaft and scrape the plate screws that it rides on, this one was repaired (see my repair video), I placed it where it should be and slightly notched both shaft and wheel and its set with BONDIC, couldn't be any more solid. Listen to the clip.
I also have an MX-312 so I'll miss this one.
