Here is a review and an unboxing of the Atlas Editions Blackpool Balloon Tram that has been motorised with a Leopold Halling chassis as I have always wanted one of these trams but with a motorised chassis. The upper deck interior has been left intact although the lower deck interior has been replaced with the Halling chassis. The tram is made of diecast metal and is heavy enough to give the Halling chassis enough traction to move the model along the track without slipping unlike what can happen with the lightweight plastic bodyshells on some models that I have seen at shows and exhibitions.

Performance is very smooth and the motor is almost silent with most of the noise coming the wheels and gearing if anything. A grand model in my opinion and I would certainly recommend getting one if trams interest you. This was just a wee review of the Blackpool Balloon Tram and I have many more model train reviews to come.
