Greg Watson of Watson Real Estate, talks about the client evening he attended at the Manawatu Golf Club, hosted by ASB Bank. It was a very rewarding evening, as he gained three important insights from the bank's Chief Economist. These are:

1. The Reserve Bank won't be lowering cash rates any time soon. However, there are no signs that they are going to go up and will most likely stay at the current rates for a time. This bodes well for continuous house price growth, resulting in a very busy housing market.

2. The regional economy in Manawatu is strong, which means there is strong real estate growth.

3. New Zealand's general economy is going well, despite the unpredictability that the winning of US President Donald Trump has brought. The Chief Economist assures everyone that New Zealand's economy is strong enough to keep the country performing better than most.
