Adi Kailash, also known as Chhota Kailash, is a revered mountain located in the Indian Himalayas in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, near the Indo-Tibetan border. Standing at an altitude of around 6,191 meters (20,312 ft), Adi Kailash is considered a spiritual twin of the more famous Mount Kailash in Tibet.

The Adi Kailash Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage for devotees of Lord Shiva, who is believed to reside on this mountain. The journey offers not only spiritual fulfillment but also breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks, lush valleys, flowing rivers, and ancient temples.

The Adi Kailash Yatra can be undertaken via Dharchula in Uttarakhand. From there, pilgrims proceed through locations such as:

Gunji
Kalapani
Kuti
Nabhi
Jyolingkong (base of Adi Kailash)

The route includes both motorable roads and trekking paths.

Government and private tour operators conduct the yatra, often supported by the Ministry of External Affairs and ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police).
