Sun Moon Lake in One Day: Must-See Sights | TAIWAN

One of the most popular attractions in Taiwan is Sun Moon Lake. In this vlog we share our day trip visiting Sun Moon Lake via public bus from Taichung with some travel tips as well as things to do and things to know before going to Sun Moon Lake.

The most direct and cost effective method of getting to Sun Moon Lake is to go via the 6670 bus. We highly recommend getting on at the Nantou Bus Gancheng Station (terminal station) in order to have a seat as most people tend to board from Taichung HSR Station.

You can buy a single use ticket from that Nantou Gancheng Station (or from Klook) however we recommend just using your Taiwan EasyCard (Taiwan's public transport card). Take an early bus as the ride is long and when returning, don't wait until the last bus in case you don't get a seat.

We got on the 7.45am bus and returned on the 5.40pm (fri and weekend-only) bus.

The Shuise Visitor Centre at Sun Moon Lake (the main bus hub) has a 7-Eleven with the bus timetables too, so take a photo and remember to be early for your return bus. You can also buy your ferry tickets from around there.
