Description: This F3 Compact Flipper from Curiss Custom Knives is an excellent daily carry. Although compact, this framelock is every bit as sturdy as its larger brother. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances Curtiss could have made it yesterday!
The F3 folder series features the S.P.O.T. (Stop Pin Over-Travel) pivot. The large diameter of the pivot prevents accidental lock over-travel and helps stabilize the lock against vertical blade play. An internal stop pin locks into a pocket on the bottom of the pivot head and prevents the pivot from rotating. This gives the F3 Compact Flipper rock solid lockup with no blade play. The blade is easy to open using the ambidextrous flipper tab and has smooth action from the caged ball bearing system. The blade is perfectly centered.
The blade is stainless damascus forged by Damasteel in Sweden. This high performing stainless damascus is created using powder metallurgical steel manufacturing to provide excellent edge retention and unmatched beauty. The high contrast ladder pattern is extremely engaging. The hand ground blade features a compound tanto grind. The hollow grind provides a razor sharp cutting edge, while the flat ground tip provides excellent durability for piercing.
The handle is Ovaltac milled 6Al4V titanium and features a flame anodized finish. The jimped backbar is made from matching flame anodized titanium. The bronze anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
