GLENDARUEL HIGHLANDERS is a cheerful 6-8 bagpipe march composed about 1860 by Alexander Fettes, Pipe Major of the City of Aberdeen Volunteers Regiment. The third and fourth parts of this version were added later by Pipe Major Donald Ross (DR) MacLennan of the Seaforth Highlanders. Glendaruel is an isolated rural glen on the Cowal Peninsula in west highlands of Scotland. The tune remains popular and is the march past for C Company of the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada.
