Such a joy to play this song!!

The ‘secret’ of this basspart is in playing the staccato(short) notes. Most of the time on the first beat of a bar, and also on the third beat of a bar. Listen for instance at bar 5 (beginning of 1ste Verse) where Paul Goddard plays the short notes on the first and third beat.

An other ‘secret’ is the timing of the 16th pull off notes. Listen for instance at bar 6 (but he constantly repeats this lick so you’ll hear it everywhere). The eight note before this 16th lick shouldn’t be played too soon and the 16th notes are really 16th notes, so please be aware to not make a triplet figure of these notes.

The quarter triplet notes are fun to play!! (for instance bar 20). And the quarter triplet figure is used for the part where the song is transposed to F minor (bars 36 en 37).

It’s really fun to play this funky/groovy song!!
