In the winter chill, few outdoor activities are as satisfying as a dip in a natural hot spring. That’s exactly what many are doing in Taitung, at the Jinlun hot springs. The hot, slightly alkaline water there and the beautiful natural scenery provide a relaxing escapade from city life.

A family plays in the water, swimming, splashing and chilling. With the winter holiday soon ending, people have come to the Jinlun hot springs in Taitung to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Jinlun hot springs are slightly alkaline. Their water contains sodium bicarbonate, and reaches temperatures of between 70°C and 90°C. To make it cooler, it can be mixed with cool water from the stream for the perfect soak. If you go, remember to keep an eye out for sudden surges in the water level or changes to the terrain. And also, leave the site as you found it.

If you are traveling here, remember to take away any rubbish that you bring over, such as plastic bags, fruits or any foods and drinks. We should preserve the Jinlun stream’s ecosystem for future generations.
