This lesson teaches you how to play all the rhythm guitar parts for the song Ballad Of John Henry.

Originally this song was played in the key of B with Joe using a guitar tuned down 6 semi tones. In recent years he now sings the song in the Key of E so he can play the guitar in standard tuning.

This lesson uses that tuning.

I have included a backing track at the end of the song so you can play along and also practice your blues licks.

For soloing use the Em pentatonic scale for the verses and Bm pentatonic for the bridge section.
