Dr. Glenn Callaghan, an early researcher on the mechanisms of change in FAP and development of FAP assessment and coding systems discusses Interpersonal Behavior Therapy (IBT), an evolution of the ideas introduced by Kohlenberg & Tsai in 1991. IBT is a return to the behavioral foundations of FAP and an extension of those ideas into contemporary clinical behavior analysis. IBT relies on the assessment of the dynamic interpersonal interaction between the client and community members and seeks to assess and extend clinical change to outside of session where it can be supported and reinforced. The discussion will include the revised Functional Idiographic Assessment Template (FIAT-2) as a framework to create essential dynamic idiographic case conceptualizations of both the client and key members of their reinforcing communities.
