An overview and retrospective of both Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. Formed in 1981 from the ashes of Danish hard rock band Brats, Mercyful Fate caught widespread attention with catchy riffs and dark occult imagery. Musical differences would soon cause the band to split again, this time forming King Diamond.
