Today in History - Apr 29 - Liberation from Dachau (1945)

Inaugurated in March 1933, Dachau was the first regular concentration camp created by the Nazis. Heinrich Himmler, as head of the Munich police, officially described it as "the first concentration camp for political prisoners". It was located in an abandoned ammunition factory, in the northeast of the city of Dachau, in Bavaria.
