මුහුදට අතහරින්නට සිදුවූ හෙලිකොප්ටරය බේරාගත් වික්‍රමය | Sri Lanka Air Force | Helicopter Operation

1987 වර්ෂයේදී, වැල්වැටිතුරේ යුධ හමුදා කඳවුර ත්‍රස්තවාදීන් විසින් වට කර පහර දුන් අවස්ථාවේදී එම කඳවුරේ සිටි භටපිරිස් වෙත සහායක වෙඩි බලය ලබාදීමට රැයක් පුරා පියාසරමින් කොටි ඉලක්ක වලට පහර දුන් CH-537 දරණ බෙල් 212 හෙලිකොප්ටරය අවසාන මොහොතේදී දරුණු ප්‍රහාරයකට ලක් වුණා. ඒ අවස්ථාවේදී හෙලිකොප්ටරය ගොඩ බාන්නට සුදුසු භූමියක් නොවූ නිසා එය මහ මුහුදට අතහරින්නට සූදානම් වුවත්, මහත් පරිශ්‍රමයකින් පසුව නිරුපද්‍රිතව එම හෙලිකොප්ටරය පලාලි දක්වා පියාසර කරන්නට හැකි වුණා. මේ එම බිහිසුණු කථා පුවතයි.
