Night view of Muhammad Al Ameen Mosque, Muscat

Muhammad Al Ameen (also written as Mohammad Al Amin) mosque has been built on a striking location in Bowshar that can be seen from almost any highway of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. With the majestic mountains in the backdrop, the white mosque looks imposing during the day. Aesthetically pleasing illumination at night turns the exterior violet while the three domes shine brightly in golden hue.
Privately financed by Saud Bahwan Charitable Foundation, the Mosque is no less in the scale of a similar mosque under royal patronage. It was opened on 26th June, one day before Ramadan in the year 2014. The structure made of white marble is combined with Swarovsky chandeliers in gold plated frames. Three big domes are gold plated and allowed the pure day light to shine in the hall. The central carpet, the third biggest in the world is woven with an absolutely amazing design in beautiful pastel colors. The marble carvings are stunning! Each & every detail is marvelous with true Islamic features. It is an excellent example of Islamic architecture & craftsmanship.
The mosque covers a total area estimated at 20,300 square metres and can accommodate 2,100+ worshippers inside and similar numbers in open courtyard. For women there is an area of 458 square metres that can accommodate another 550+ worshippers, There is also a library spread over two floors to accommodate 12,000 volumes of books with the possibility of adding several thousands more.

Maintaining the historical continuity of the fantastic Islamic architecture, this wonderful creation in mostly white marble is breath-taking.”

Ahmed Bukhatir (Arabic: أحمد بوخاطر‎; born 16 October 1975) is an Emirati Islamic singer. Born in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Ahmed Bukhatir has become famous icon in the Muslim world and beyond for his Islamic songs known as Nasheeds. Ahmed sings his nasheeds without any musical instruments. He is the only Nasheed singer from the UAE to ever top a Virgin Music Chart.
