In 2020, INOMICS, the career site for economists, once again carried out its salary survey, examining the current state of the economics profession worldwide. As in previous years, the survey considered pay, sector, seniority, location, gender and educational background. Launched as cases of coronavirus cases began to increase exponentially around the world, we added new questions to the survey in 2020 related to the coronavirus pandemic to assess the effect of the crisis on economists.

Over 1,500 economists have completed the survey so far, with data collection continuing until the end of December 2020. You can still fill it out now by going to https://inomics.com/salary-survey.

We’ll publish the full report in the first half of 2021, but while we are finalising the results we wanted to release some of our preliminary findings.
