Anssi Mikola talks about Riverrecycle's solution to the ocean plastic problem.

For the launch of RiverRecycle's cleanup project on the Mithi River in Mumbai, founder and CEO Anssi Mikola answers a few questions about the solution we are creating.
The project aims to stop the flow of plastic and other waste into the Indian ocean.
With the funding of the Huhtamäki foundation and the support of UN Global Pulse, the collaboration among Riverrecycle Oy, VTT Finland, and the local NGO Hearth5R resulted in the installation of a system allowing the collection and sorting of waste from the river.

A chemical recycling facility creates value from plastic waste that would otherwise end up in the environment.
Moreover, the project provides training in waste separation and facilitates waste separation at the source for the households of the 5000 residents in Kurla and surrounding areas.
