Temperatures are rising, it's going to be a mild weekend, but does this mean the end of winter?

There's unlikely to be any snow or ice warnings over the coming days with the mercury staying well above freezing by night and into the teens by day.

There's more rain to come also, but a shift in the jet stream position means the wettest weather will be in slightly different areas to where we've seen the heaviest downpours recently.

Even into next week the changeable but fairly mild pattern is likely to continue as Alex explains.
