Sunil Kumari, a resident of Jhajjar, Haryana, came to Eye7 Chaudhary Eye Centre with a long and difficult eye history. Years ago, she had undergone corneal transplant surgeries (putli replacements) in both eyes due to dense corneal opacities — a condition that severely blurred her vision and made daily life very challenging.
Unfortunately, over time, the earlier grafts failed, and her vision began to deteriorate again. Hoping for a second chance, she returned to Eye7 Lajpat Nagar, where she met Dr. Sucheta Kaul Gugnani, Cornea and Refractive Surgery Consultant at Eye7.
In this video, Dr. Sucheta explains Sunil’s condition: the graft in her left eye had failed, and whiteness had returned to the central cornea, causing poor vision. This time, the team decided not only to perform another corneal transplant but also to add an extra protective layer during the surgery — giving the new graft a better chance of long-term success.
Just one week after surgery, Sunil’s progress has been remarkable. Her vision is much clearer, she’s walking confidently, and she’s smiling again. The eye is stable, healing well, and her recovery is being carefully monitored through regular follow-ups and medication.
