Historic Garden Visit: Sir Arthur Streeton at Longacres

Описание к видео Historic Garden Visit: Sir Arthur Streeton at Longacres

This week on The Horti-Culturalists we were very lucky to be given permission to film in a wonderful private garden in the Dandenong Ranges to the East of Melbourne. The garden was planted in the 1920's by the famous Australian painter Sir Arthur Streeton and Longacres remains in his family to this day. And our friend from Gentiana Nursery - Craig Wilson - also manages this garden so he's able to give us some insights into the recent history of the garden, what he faced when he arrived at the site 25 years ago, and the challenges he faces today. We'll take a look at some of the historic planting still thriving and some of the newer additions to the garden that make it just as interesting and beautiful as it must have been a century ago!
Many thanks to Craig for showing us the garden and to the owners for allowing us to wander about!
